What year was the pictured Kenmore washer model #26G20500N and dryer model #26G60500N manufactured? These was very popular in the north GA area during the 1970's. And they seemed to last a very long time.

Maximum spreckled...?

The description of the washer’s tub makes it sound like the “spreckling” is a big deal..?! Don’t recall ever seeing that as a selling point for a washing machine before.

Spreckled porcelain Tubs

The added material not only made the tub look better it also made it more durable as the spreckling was a 2nd coat, as the finish got lighter in color as more more was applied over the base black coat it was considered better.

They could have put on two coats of dark finish as they did on commercial models but it was not as pretty to most consumers.

The lower 2 Models

I remember as a kid looking through the Sears Catalog and wishing so much that we could get those basic 1 Cycle models. Don't know why those models appealed to me so much, but they did/do. I would love to see/own a set today!

Are there supposed to be pictures here?

I don't see any pictures here, or on some other threads that I think have pics attached. What could be the reason?

I don't think we are supposed to post the Picture Of the Day in the threads.

HobbyApocalypse,

The Picture of the Day (aka POD) is viewable from the home page of the site by placing your mouse on the "Daily Double" link (on the menu just below Does your washer tell you that it's an "Automatic Washer"?) from which will drop down choices for "Today's Picture of the Day" and "Today's Patent of the Day."  I don't use mobile devices for website viewing so I can't say what's the exact procedure for them.

The site's webmaster/owner asks that PODs not be directly copied/posted into any discussion threads on the point that viewing the POD is an impetus to get people to visit the site daily.

It is OK, however, to save copies of them on your computer for your personal anytime-viewing.

As Longfellow wrote, "Art is long, and Time is fleeting," so you have to catch the POD on the day of its appearance to see a picture or try Googling the model numbers if they are provided in the discussion, which these are, you lucky person.
