Lint filter that fits on the top of the agitator?

Oi?

What?

Sorry for my ignorance but are you sure you're talking about a Speed Queen and not a GE filter flo?

Unless it's a model I don't know...

I have two Raytheon Speed Queens and both have the recirculating self-cleaning filter that is a ring on the top of the drum.

Ok, now I'm curious...

I've never seen a filter like that... How does it work?

Darren, I think I have a NOS fabric softener dispenser for an SQ washer of this vintage. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you might be interested.

It's a bit more of a pain than say a GE filter pan and just as gimmicky as it needs to be latched to a special agitator cap, but it's super fun. There are fins built into the parameter of the filter that scoop water up into the filter pan. Oddly it does pick up some lint as seen in the short clip.

Darren - they're fairly scare or even more so than finding a solid tub SQ. This one came from a random shop I stopped in (I think, anyway) and nicely pairs with the '72 I found recently.

The first wash I did at the first convention I attended (2001), was with a Speed Queen with such a filter in Robert's basement. Wonderful memories!

Luigi, I was there, but how did I miss that SQ with the filter?!!!    BTW, we're coming up on the 18th anniversary of said 2001 convention.
