Hey folks! Just want to cover all shipping options for a purchase I'm about to make. Although I will probably wind up going Uship or even Jackie (if she is willing), I'd be curious if any AW members might be making any road trips and might be interested in schlepping a Hotpoint Hallmark (will prob. already be crated, so weight circa 325lb.) from Ohio to SE Arkansas near the northwest Louisiana border? Just curious...and I'm in no rush.

Jackie isn't doing shipping anymore due to health, anyone know for sure?

Jackie Is still driving and shipping, she is bringing the Tappan DW from Austin Tx. to Beltsville Md, she should be in TX around the 20th of Aug.

For really heavy items she may want someone to load and unload.

Text her @ 206-433-8539 for prices and schedule.

Believe Jackie did take a short break.

Many years ago now she picked up our Whirlpool convertible/portable for shipping to a member in upstate NY. Several months later it was noted on this forum the good lady was out of the shipping business for a bit IIRC.

Can see why; that small slip of a thing shifting heavy appliances and other things on and off that truck.

You should have seen us; it was like Lucy and Ethel, around 2AM or so in the morning and traffic was backed up as we tried to navigate that washer onto truck.

Had no idea who Jackie even was before she arrived as member who took the washer arranged shipping. There's me answering the door and going out to see this huge tractor trailer "parked" mid-block. *LOL*

Thankfully we had been in communication (email, texts, telephone) so had an idea of when Jackie was due to arrive, and had things ready to go upon arrival.

They're back to taking on a service fee to all shipments. So in essence they're getting paid twice; a cut from person/trucker used, then another sum from person placing the order.

Even on small bids (say under $75) the service fee is around $25 USD.

SHIPPERS

Allen:

I have used a couple twice now and they have given me wonderful service - It is Danny & Rhonda - Their text number is:

(843) 809-0049 - Just tell them that Bob from North Carolina referred you.  BTW how far are you from the Louisiana state line.  I grew up in Homer, LA which is only 20 miles or so from the ARK state line.

I'm in SE Ark....25 miles south of Pine Bluff and probably 80 miles from El Dorado. Doing a quick online distance calc. puts me about 110 miles north of Homer in a pretty straight line.
