Hi. I've been reading this fine site off the on for about 10 years but never had a compelling need to join until now! I have a KDS-16 Superba dishwasher that I'd like to sell and have gotten permission from the webmaster to post the info. I have posted a listing on Pittsburgh Craigslist (see link) and thought someone here might be interested. Here's what the listing says:
For you vintage dishwasher fans, here is a Kitchenaid by Hobart Superba KDS-16. Let me start by saying it's PROBABLY working. It came with the house I bought ten years ago, and I intended to replace it, but once I started using it, I found out how awesome it was and kept it. (Clean dishes in half an hour!) Fast forward to last summer. I went to start it and...nothing. I figured it was dead and bought a new Kitchenaid. When it was installed, they went to start it to test it and...nothing! Turns out the problem was a burnt-up electrical wire all along. Once the electric supply line was fixed, the new machine worked fine, which means the Superba probably would've kept working, too, had I only known! I've been keeping it as a back-up, but need to downsize, so I'm offering it for $50 (if it doesn't work, the parts are worth that). It has a customized trim kit on the front - solid maple. I have the owner's manual as well. Needs some cleaning up as it's been living in my shed. Please contact me through the CL email relay. I'm leary of posting my phone #, but we can exchange phone #s later if you decide to come and take a look.
If you made it through all that and you're still interested, send me a message. Thanks!
