I just changed out my refrigerator from a GE side by side to a LG French door. Last week the refrigerator crapped out and I lost a lot of food. My GE dishwasher stopped working about 3 months ago the machine kept stopping and started to leak. It was 18 years old and the refrigerator was almost 21 years old. Time for new stuff I bought a Bosch 300 series!

 I think you'll really like the Speed 60 cycle on your dishwasher. I use it most of the time with the Extra Dry option. It cleans everything in 1 hour and 24 minutes. On rare occasions will I find a piece of cutlery that didn't get quite clean. The manual says to use it only for freshly soiled dishes, but I use it all the time on dishes that have been sitting for two or three days. I just scrape them out with no rinsing and put them in! | ||

Congratulations! Always fun to have new appliances to play with. Models in the Bosch 300 series top Consumer Reports' ratings. Also rated 'Excellent' for reliability and customer satisfaction (a recently added category).
While performance ratings are great for the LG refrigerator, I was surprised to see that the highest any brand is rated in the categories of reliability and customer satisfaction (for 3-door models) is merely 'Good.' For what it's worth, your LG is at the top of those categories as well. Enjoy! | ||

Don't you just love
new appliances??? I mean, I want the ones I have to continue to work but it's like Christmas getting new ones. LOL
That refrigerator you had did look VERY old but if it lasted 21 years, that's totally worth it. Did it ever have any repairs? I hope the LG lasts as long but you would win the lottery if it did. I think I would consider Bosch as a dishwasher I think they look super cool and hear good things about them. | ||

I filled it up with just average soiled dishes certainly not a Bob load and now I am running it on speed60 cycle - I will check the results in the morning!

I will probably be using normal or auto most of the time. I just really wanted to try it out. I took out the silverware basket but I am not used to a 3rd rack - that is something really new for me. I don't plan on using both at the same time - if the 3rd rack doesn't work out I will take it out and just use the basket we will see what happens!

I had an LG with a third rack that I used for silverware. Worked very well. It was awesome having all the extra space in the bottom rack for pots/pans. I put large utensils like ladles and wide spatulas in the 2nd rack.
I really missed the 3rd rack when the LG was replaced with a GE. Even now, with my Whirlpool portable, I use a very small, 2-section basket for silverware in the lower rack. I think it was actually meant to be a utility basket for the upper rack, but I stuff it full and only occasionally have to clean off a few yibbles. I use nothing but the 1-hr cycle on the Whirlpool with great results. The thing cleans well, but is as loud as a bowling alley. Would hate to hear it roaring away for 2-1/4 hours in my open-plan apartment using the Normal cycle. Looking forward to seeing the results from your new Bosch tomorrow. You may grow to love that 3rd rack as much as I did. | ||

Bosch Dishwasher!
Well I am about to do my 3rd load - first I did speed60, than a normal cycle and tonight I plan on using Auto. This is not exactly a Bob load but it 2 days of dishes the plastic piece and the bowl with red sauce on it was left from yesterday pasta dish so that dried 24 hours! Today I made chicken and rice with vegetables and advacado. The chicken I made in my Advantium oven in the corningware dish that had dried on. The rest of the stuff was loaded as seen in the pictures. So far I have been Happy :) lets see what the new results bring!
I am happy to take any advice on loading - I am new to using a silver ware 3rd rack! But I am getting more used to it! | ||

3rd Rack
I love the third rack in mine. I had removed the silverware basket and was putting silverware up top. My husband hates the silverware on top. He thinks it's too tedious to have to put each piece in its place. That's just how he is, he's not a fan of details, EVER. Bless his soul, he loves to help out and frequently does dishes. Given I didn't want to give him any reason to stop helping with dishes, I put the silverware basket back in the bottom at his request. Now he can jam everything into one compartment only for me to adjust before running.
Sometimes in life we make these little compromises to get what we want in the end. This was one of them and well worth it. | ||

The cutting board came out spotless it had dried on avocado on it - I had been using finish Quantum in my GE but since they switched to that 2 part pack it got caught in the dispenser twice so I switched back to cascade! I am just starting this new package of cascade which seems to work well. I may go back to Finish when I use the cascade up!

Detergent tray The little plastic piece that acts somewhat like a handle of the second rack, I actually removed. I find that the detergent dissolves MUCH quicker when it goes to the bottom of the tub and is mixed up by the turbulence. | ||

The Heavy cycle Lakewebsterkid, you say the machine doesn't alternate levels when heating the water to 150 degrees during the main wash phase. So it only scrubs the lower rack during that time. Does it begin spraying to top rack once the water heating delay is finished? Or does it just spray the bottom rack only during the entire main wash phase.
It may only be spraying the bottom rack during water heating to protect glassware. | ||

Bosch The handle is to ‘help’ dissolve the detergent. But I don’t think it dissolves fast enough there. I’m not sure. I have never hear it alternate once the detergent is dropped in. Probably to makes sure the bottom rack is as clean as possible? | ||
