A holy grail washer if there ever was one. Hail the elusive Apex, an agi-tub machine that creates such a ruckus it has to stop halfway through the wash period to add more water. For an encore, it’ll roll over a dry load of clothes right before your very eyes. And yeah; the tub is made of fiberglass. Wanna make somethin' of it, tough guy?

This was one of the early aquisitions by what is now Electrolux. In 1956, the company was purchased by White Sewing Machine Co., which became White Consolidated Industries (WCI) in the mid 60's. WCI later became part of Electrolux. |

You want to sit down and weep over number of appliance brands White Consolidated gobbled up. Fact that WCI was soon the proverbial hunter who became the hunted is of some comfort, but one does wonder what if anything in terms of records remains from what was acquired.
It industry standard then as now holds, huge amounts of everything from inventory to paperwork was simply rubbished; thrown into giant dumpsters.... |
