I am looking for a new old washer. My new top loader G.E. is starting to make a very odd loud noise and being two years old past its warranty.
My Grandmother had a 1978 G.E. filter flo with the mini basket. They have a very distinctive wash sound and were bullet proof.
I have been looking for another one about 40 years old that still works but they are hard to find.
I don't know much about Hotpoint save for the fact that most things have always been a clone of G.E.
This Pic is not great so I was wondering if you guys out there with a sharp eye could tell me yes or no..
What year is this and what type wash system.
Thanks guys

Looks like a rim-flo with handwash agitator.

Yes

My daily driver is almost the exact same, Just a GE with a rim flo filter instead of the pan

Back to a filter Flo! You could find a GE agitator with a filter pan and replace the recirculating nozzle with a filter Flo flume. Cut a hole in the plastic clothes guard to run it through and voila! I’d also switch out the filter ring for a regular clothes guard. You could still use the mini basket too- if this machine had the hand wash setting- it’s the same as mini wash!
