hello washer friends, I finally was able to get my vintage bendix diving bell washer. It took a long time and a great deal of driving but it is finally here! My wife and I came through penn. by way of ohio, the machine was in masontown which is on the other side of the state. 10 hours later and it was home. I am hoping that some of the bendix experts will chime in soon and tell me about a few repairs that my machine will need. I already drained and cleaned the tranny and refilled it with gear oil. I am replacing hoses today. the timer does not work of course, the cord is in good shape and the washer does run. I am afraid to tackle the pump due to the fact that every old washer pump that I have ever taken apart has turned to dust and been unfixable. I havent tested the fill valves yet or put water in it. any advice will be welcome. I will show some pics very soon. thanks the drycleaner
do you know if it is an early or late model?i think the year spread is ~1938-46,early has black steel drum pulley, later versions spoked die cast pulley.Very cool early machines with origins in the FlashGordon/Buck Rogers 1930s :)
