Hi guys! I’m looking for a softener dispenser for my little ‘76 portable Kenmore washer. I love to hang things out on the line to dry and so liquid softener is the way to go. This machine came with a dispenser but it had a large crack in it thereby spraying the entire machine with fabric softener. Apparently the previous owner never noticed because the entire inside of the cabinet was caked with waxy dried softener when I got it. I’ve use the downy ball but unfortunately it causes the spray rinse during the spin to splash water everywhere- even outside of the wash basket and into the cabinet, which then ends up in a puddle on the floor. I don’t use it anymore. So unless I remember to add the softener, I often forget and go without. So... I’m looking for one of the softener dispensers that sits on top of the straight vane agitators. Any of you guys have a extra? I’ll gladly pay your for it and shipping. Let me know! Thanks!
Matthew

Mine sits on top of the agitator just like the one I showed in the post above. I have the straight vane agitator and I m assuming they were all the same size at the top. I’ll attach some pics to help you see what size I need.
Thanks for your help! |

Well I’d love to get the appropriate one for this machine. The Kenmore agitator top is on the skinny side- it measures 2” at the top. I would have saved the one that came with but it was too far gone to even bother. Let me know what you have and I’ll pay you for it and shipping. Thanks!
Now that the weather is improving, I’m going to want to start hanging things outside and I’d love to use the liquid fabric softener. |
