Speed Queen at $85 is more realistically priced. Persons wanting $800 for that Kenmore wants their head examined. You can find a nearly new Miele rotary iron for about one thousand or sometimes much cheaper.

When are people going to realize market for domestic ironer/presses isn't that huge. A member has been trying to give away a GE flatplate press for years now without so much as a nibble IIRC.

Mangle vs. Ironer

launderess's profile picture
Makers of rotary ironers fought a battle to have their appliances called anything else but a mangle. Primiarly this was done to over come negative associations with that device which was known for harming not just textiles, but body parts as well.

Strictly speaking at least in English usage a mangle refers to "wringer" used to remove water by squeezing. A rotary iron uses a rotating covered and padded cylinder to move laundry alone a heated shoe or chest.
