My step dad acquired this gas stove/oven from his grandmother. The fire “grill” which heats the oven was turning on but the flames along the left kind of danced off and on. So I took it apart to clean it. In the process I u screwed this little L tube but then wasn’t able to screw it back on because the thread on the male piece broke and became like a spring almost (as seen in the closeup). It is hollow and I was able to tap a lot of white powder out. The end of that tube has a pinhole size opening. The L tube is completely open and was originally bolted in place right under the “grill”. I assume gas goes into the big grill piece via that big center piece which attaches to the wall of the oven.
I don’t know what these pieces all are called or do, but most importantly: what do I need to do to be able to use the oven? I’m nervous to test it out because I don’t want to blow anything up. I assume this is a vital piece which HAS to be fixed right?
Can I makeshift fix this on my own (without having fancy tools or a welder etc?) Or do I need to hire a professional?
