Just wondering, this Hotpoint washer has a solid tub yet it has a full time lint filter built in just like Whirlpool does. Yet the Hotpoint tub is solid, so does this tub fill up until it is overflowing and then continue to fill until a pressure switch is satisfied? Is it just like early filter-flo washers.

Yes that is exactly how this Hotpoint machine works, just like the Filter-Flo's of the same time.
