Anyone have any knowledge about the optional automatic soap injector?

It was a U-shaped bin with an auger. They probably got the idea from automatic stokers for coal furnaces.

Do we know the spin speed on this early front-loading automatic beauty? Also: I'm assuming that's a dryer to the left of washer. What's the thing attached to the upper right front of it?

Compared to the more industrial-application look of the original (now demoted to being called 'standard') version of the machine, the 'deluxe' model was definitely styled to look sleek in a kitchen or 1st floor laundry room. With an automatic dosing detergent dispenser, even! Wonder how often one had to break up clumps in high humidity areas?

Eugene, I think that the thing on the right front corner of the dryer was probably the lint filter.

This topic has come up before. Quite the ingenious design, however I can see why Bendix abandoned it after only a few years. Humidity, corrosion, etc.

The spin speed of these Gyros was 515-535 RPM - lighting fast for their day!
