As some of you may remember, back in the middle of April I found my dream stove, A 1953 edition of the Frigidaire Thrifty Thirty. Well 4 months later I finally got around to giving it a preliminary cleaning and I want to share with you the fantastically gratifying results. First I will share a couple of the original before pictures taken the day I bought the stove and unloaded it in my friends garage in Hagerstown MD and then the pictures of the stoves current shape after my visit to Hagerstown yesterday to work on it. Of course the inside of the oven still needs to be cleaned once I learn how to remove the heat diffuser from the bottom bake element and there is still detail work I want to do on the outside of the stove as well, but I still think the transformation so far is fantastic and I could not be happier! Now I just have a few questions.....First off does anyone have a copy of the service manual that covers the RS series of the Thrifty Thirty ranges that I could get a copy of? The Tech talk manual in the Automaticwasher Library does not have the information I am looking for? Second question, just in case I can not find the service manual for this range can anyone explain to me how you separate the burners from the drip plates to clean them? Third & fourth questions, how hard is it to calibrate the thermostat in the oven of a Thrifty Thirty should it need adjustment and how probable is it that the oven thermostat WILL need an adjustment?
