Hi guys I found this lovely GM Frigidaire 1-18 on Craigslist. It's near the Muskegon area which is 2 and a half hours away from me. I Bought this machine and I'm looking to pick it up Friday or Saturday. This guy has no idea what he is selling.

Torque Spring breaking by downy ball getting under agitator
Is there any possibility that if I use my Downy Ball that I use on my 1982 kenmore will get under my agitator and jam it causing the torque spring to break or does the 1-18 not have a torque spring at all? I learned about the torque spring in swestoyz's video.I'm also worried about a bra underwire coming out of one of my mother's bras and destroying my bellows. With some serious welding can I fix he torque spring myself?

Fun machines but be warned...
These are pretty loud machines.
I remember I snuck my 1-18 into the laundry room and got it into the place where my Maytag normally was. Moms was none the wiser. But the first time I washed a load of clothes in the Frigidaire, it was at night. I had to jump up & run across the house to close the kitchen door that led to the laundry room because I was afraid it was going to wake her up! LOL... To me, the 1-18 sounds like a freight train chugging down the tracks! :oD | ||
