Hi guys I found this lovely GM Frigidaire 1-18 on Craigslist. It's near the Muskegon area which is 2 and a half hours away from me. I Bought this machine and I'm looking to pick it up Friday or Saturday. This guy has no idea what he is selling.

Is there any possibility that if I use my Downy Ball that I use on my 1982 kenmore will get under my agitator and jam it causing the torque spring to break or does the 1-18 not have a torque spring at all? I learned about the torque spring in swestoyz's video.I'm also worried about a bra underwire coming out of one of my mother's bras and destroying my bellows. With some serious welding can I fix he torque spring myself?

These are pretty loud machines.
I remember I snuck my 1-18 into the laundry room and got it into the place where my Maytag normally was. Moms was none the wiser. But the first time I washed a load of clothes in the Frigidaire, it was at night. I had to jump up & run across the house to close the kitchen door that led to the laundry room because I was afraid it was going to wake her up! LOL... To me, the 1-18 sounds like a freight train chugging down the tracks! :oD |
