Looks like the handles are not original.

Per the ad: "Sell our 1960 metal kitchen cabinets.they are in great shape for how old they are that is the original counter top also.all the cabinets have sliding shelves and extras. All the appliances go with the cabinets have extra parts for the stove, the cabinets standing alone have wooden doors and so does the back of the island. There is ten feet of wall and seven of base on one side and the sink side has twelve feet of base and a corner cabinet that is four feet by two feet and the island is four feet. The wood front cabinet is three feet by seven feet. If you are looking to do a retro kitchen these cabinets are what you need "

And they are changing this why? The features in the cabinets are almost unheard of today to say nothing of the great Hotpoint appliances. Some people would recommend a face lift for the Mona Lisa, circumcision for David or adding arms to Venus de Milo.

"Modern"

They probably want to transform their kitchen into the the 2010's standard ugly kitchen. Gray and white everything. BLUK! Could it be any more sterile and bland!?

Those cabinets are styling, functional... and a beautiful color!!

If color was the problem, they could have the cabinets removed and repainted at an auto body shop.

Yep, insanity...

Few people value them the way we do. But they sure do expect us to pay for them. I confess that the closer I get to having all of the cabinets I want the more I’m paying for them.

The handles might be original. Some of my Geneva cabinets have the same style in chrome, and I’ve seen enough to be reasonably sure they are original.

I don't think the handles are original, unless they had multiple styles. The shape is similar, but there's a bit more design to the originals. Here are a couple of pictures of some originals.

Those handles look just like the ones on the wood cabinets in the art and home-ec rooms of the high school I went to. It opened in '67. I'm not sure if they were satin chrome or aluminum.

Amazing St. Charles

I'm committed to Geneva and quite happy. I've found some more Geneva cabinets to fill out my original collection I bought in Memphis. So, now I have a curved cabinet and all of the upper and lower corner cabinets I need, but, if I was starting from scratch, I might choose St. Charles. I love all of the extra features and special pieces St. Charles made. Such great fun.

Here's my latest Geneva toy. I saw the kit on Etsy and couldn't resist--it should be here Saturday!

Those are so neat, if only I could downsize most of our appliances imagine how many more we could have.

So Cool , John L.
