A few questions on appliances that made "guest appearances" on TV and film:

1.) What brand dishwasher was Rod Taylor's mom loading in Alfred Hitchcock's, "The Birds?"

I haven't seen the movie in years, but I recall seeing only the top rack of 'Mrs. Brenner's' dishwasher. She didn't seem like she was having very much fun loading it. (Guess mama wasn't too happy about her son switching from Suzanne Pleshette to Tippi Hedren" as his girlfriend).

2.) What brand of matched washer and dryer set did Mrs. Mitchell use, (located in her screened in porch) in the first year episodes of "Dennis the Menace." They look amazing nice and modern for 1959 machines.

3.) What brand dishwasher appeared in the original Walt Disney, "Parent Trap." The film was dated as 1961, but filmed in the summer of 1960. Compared to the ugly out-dated Kitchen-Aids' of the day with the center stove type handle in the middle of the door, it looks as modern and attractive as some of today's dishwashers (actually even MORE attractive than many of today's.).

In "The Birds", it was one of these - a Whirlpool "telephone dial" dishwasher.

Of course, many people today, don't know what a telephone dial is, let alone a machine like this.

Thanks Paul.
