Doesn't it look like the lower rack is upside down?

It's a Beam

dishwasher from Webster City, IA. I believe its the same company that makes the central vac systems. The bottom rack looks over-designed with loops and separator bars. See the top left of the photo

Leave it to Wards to instruct turning the bottom rack upside down for storage.

Interesting...this d/w was pictured in the CR 1969 report with the front hose posing a problem for positioning the d/w. Did Beam produce this for any of the other mfgrs? Philco? Westinghouse? Did this share any parentage with the Frigidaire slant front?

Don't think they were a D&M

As far as I can tell, they didn't produce anything for Philco (all D&M) or Westinghouse (all Westinghouse built, except for late models US top loaders).
Beam seemed to follow the Department Store private label path. Other than Wards, I have literature showing this model with a WT Grants/Bradford label. Maybe Western Auto too?
I believe the slant front Frigidaires were strictly a GM design. Remember GE/Hotpoint and Maytag top loaders had a front-mounted unicouple as well

Again, huge thanks go out to Steve for his wealth of dishwasher knowledge and literature. This was a most singular machine. I saw one in a Grants store, but did not know anything about BEAM at the time.

Anytime Greg!

It's in the guest bedroom. Ask PhilR!
