I believe it's one of those indoor vents that you fill with water to theoretically condensate the moisture and retain the lint but do almost nothing. I had a dryer that came with one of those things. it was terrible. |

I think you will find they are meant to be frozen before use so the steam will turn to water and once used need refreezing before another load can be dried. Never been tempted fortunately as too much faff and condenser dryers over here have been quite successful if you don't want to empty the water container most can be connected to the washer drain and you just have to clean the filter like any other dryer.
