My skinny mini was in storage for the past 15 years. I put it back in service 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine during that time. It sat for 4 days while I went out of town. I tried to use it last night and here is what it did: it filled with water and then just hummed. I manually moved the tub a bit and it started washing. At the end of the wash period, it took the usual quiet moments, then the dial clicked onto spin, and it just hummed again. I tried to moved the tub again and it started to agitate instead of spinning. Any suggestions where to start? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Todd

Motor start capacitor? I have never worked on a "Skinny Mini" however every Frigidaire I ever worked on, needed a motor capacitor replaced. Would be a good place to start....

As Rick said, motor problems. Capacitor, or the motor itself.

Thanks

Thanks, guys, it gives me a starting point. I actually have a spare motor but may have to get creative for a capacitor.

Call Granger, with the specs on the old capacitor. As long as the specs are close, you are good.

Non Starting Skinny-Mini Washer

As others suggested try the motor start cap, other wise the motor may have a bad start switch, it could also be a bad timer contact, but start with a capacitor, you can use about any motor start cap you might have around as long as it is similar in size, the SC from any DD washer will work fine on your SM.
