Hi there,
we bought a small cottage in the countryside and since finished all the paperwork, we are now furnishing it. we are leaving the walls and the floor as it is since it looks authentic. we went to a few secondhand markets to find interesting pieces. already order furniture for a bedroom and living room as well as the kitchen. but we couldn't find the dishwasher that would fit perfectly into our kitchen. the design is from www.murdochtroon.co.uk/...
I looked up a few dishwashers but not sure which one is best. there's one from Big Chill, from Swan and Smeg.
which brand is better to trust?

A member here has a Smeg.  He likes it a lot.  I bet Swan is a low-end, cheap Chinese product.  Off the top of my head, not sure who supplies the dishwasher for Bich Chill.

A Vintage

Kitchen Aid from the 60s or 70s if you want one that works.

Smeg

A friend of mine had a cheap crap Chinese dishwasher and it was giving trouble again. I suggested instead of my trying to fix it, it would be better for us to scrounge a low cost dishwasher of a good brand, I would repair whaterver it needed and then she would have a quality machine at low cost.
I found a Smeg on gumtree for $20 that the owner thought needed a new fill hose. Turns out the fill hose was only kinked inside the dishwasher, and was easily un-kinked. It did need a couple of other trivial things done, but cost under $50 all up. This machine retails new at about $2000 here in Australia.
My friend loves the Smeg. Raves about it. It is so quiet and washes everything clean, no exceptions. Smeg dishwashers have an extra small wash arm on the end of the lower wash arm, the mini spray rotates in the opposite direction so nothing escapes its jets of water. I was very impressed when I worked on it, it is a very sophisticated machine.
