My work breakroom has 2 of these microwaves dated from 1995. They have held up EXTREMELY well for being used in a retail store breakroom with over 200 employees. One has a noisy fan that has gotten worse over time, it makes a rough vibrating sound. Anyhow a coworker was using that particular unit the other day and I saw blue sparks coming from underneath the unit (onto the table top) I told her and she opened the door and the sparks stopped so I knew it had something to do with the magnatron (the fan continues to run when the door is open and was running without the spark). Plus it being a blue spark I knew it was something electrical. My question is, are there even any wires on the underside of this unit? I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but thought it was strange especially since there are no turntables in these units. I think maybe the heavy usage and noise unbalanced fan may have finally gotten to this unit. Such a shame as it cooked way better than the other identical unit which always overcooks my food.
Whats with the link to Google? There is a commercial Amana microwave at where I work been here at least 10 yrs and still going strong. There is also a Sharp Carousel microwave that's older then the amana and it still works!!The cardds for it have long been lost.
