1968-9 Lady Kenmore Electric Dryer

Pretty dryer, and a great performer, this was the only KMD to have a dual range soft-heat system that used THREE heating elements, if you selected the higher temperature all 3 elects were used and it would tapper to one element, if you used the delicate heat two elements were used that would tapper to the one small element of just 1500 watts.

That plus electronic or timed drying control and switchable 2 1/2 hour Wrinkle-Gaurd and the best drying air-flow system ever used on a home dryer made tis the most advanced ever built up to this time.

It is interesting, I have seen several of these KM dryers paired with center dial Maytags, it seems that buyers that really did their homework often bough a MT washer for reliability and skipped the small-slow HOH dryer in favor of the more reliable better performing WP-KM machines.

So nice!

That has to be one of the most attractive panels they ever did on the Kenmores. Would have been fun to be in a room with the designers when they would discuss these models. We need to do this pair next, John!

Yes this will be a fun project Jon, I have all the parts to convert the dryer to gas thanks to Kevin in Long Beach.

I also want to do the 1964 WP Imperial Mark 12 pair and the sapphire blue 1967 WP Imperial Mark 12 washer.

When are you visiting again.

Those would be really fun machines to work on! Let’s check our calendars and come up with some dates. Need to stay just a little longer this time. Did all that work on the whirlpools and I left without ever seeing them run! Haha

Better save the GE set for when Matthew will be down there or she’ll bitch slap us all.
