I don't know about finish, but mechanically they handled my repair on a 20 something year old machine and returned it in like new state.
They have a repair/refurbish unit at the factory, much like Kirby does for their vacuums.
Repair and Refurbishment Department
Again, I am not sure about finish repairs, but it is worth a call to them. It's toll free. |

If it's just the enamel paint that got chipped and it's not in a prominent location where you'll have to look at it all the time, a small bottle of appliance touch-up "paint" (about the same size bottle as typewriter correction fluid) could make it less noticeable. That's if your mixer is white. You can find it at ACE. Apply it sparingly.
I used touch-up on my '57 GE Combination fridge and can't even find a lot of the spots where I applied it. Same for my vintage Penncrest upright freezer. I also used it on my vintage K45 mixer, which had scratches near the top of the stand where the sharp edge of original bowl, which didn't have the rolled rims like later ones, had caused ugly scars over the years. |

Makes me wonder about the lip on my Oster blender jar, as I uncharacteristically tried to get a glass in the dishwasher forcibly beside it, only for it to chip off, knowing that Sunbeam Corporation won't be as generous, and me loving to have two blender jars (sometimes needing three available in rotation) will find it very hard going (back) to just one...!

Yes, I need two blender jars and the demand for milkshakes make me wish I had three... (I have three bases, two blades and three rings, often contemplating buying a pack of another three packaged in my occasional visits to a hardware store, three cover and two caps)
So despite the small chip on the lip, I used the jar, licked off the drippings, and put in the washer to use again, with confidence of no bleeding or ingesting glass... As for getting back to Kitchen Aid components/products, here is a chip on my mixer blade, as I’d gone through a brief period of it being hard to take off its axis, wondering if I just should replace the appliance... The bowl is okay, with nothing in there getting marred, but that blade had gone on improperly for it to emit a loud banging while doing its job, and suffer that small dent... — Dave |
