A plain box looking like those late-‘40’s, early-‘50’s, in white, most likely some European newbie to the American market, right down to it even being in our kitchen (some apartment one I seemed to be in, at that!) and with a rear opening lid, and one knob—yes, ONE knob!—to the upper right of it...
Must be the need for a new machine (Although there’s nothing wrong with what I have now) or just what I see and read about and what’s featured in Picture of the Day here had prompted it... There was even a box of detergent (an orange Tide-ish brand, and a bluish liquid in a clear unlabeled bottle attached to a hose going into the machine, and when I plugged in what was a white three-prong cord, the washer just made a groaning noise and an impeller was at the bottom of the bottom of the tub, then think I woke up... This was in the mid-morning a few days ago... —Dave |

Thanks, Deborah...
As for the groaning noise, I may have had my hand on the knob and must not have gotten used to her starting up (I mean, there wasn't even any laundry, nor was this machine probably hooked up to any water, nor even attached to any draining) so a need to read an ownner's manual might have helped... Countless foreign machines of a lot of eras in different threads I read about here prompted this as does our modern US market's back to simplicity... So maybe not ironic I should dream this, as another thread I'd posted long ago, about the washer I have now, in its twenties... Thank you for your reading and response... -- Dave |
