Last weekend I ordered something on eBay. The seller didn't appear to be a business or anything, but they had multiples of the item for sale. It was the lowest priced and their feedback seemed alright, so I chose it.
When it arrived today I was surprised that it was in Bed, Bath and Beyond packaging and tape and from a B B & B location in Pendergrass, GA. Inside there were coupons from LL Bean, a gift card from Hello Fresh, a Geico ad and Bed Bath and Beyond coupons packed with the item.
I am just surprised they'd be selling from there given their name wasn't anywhere in the listing. I thought maybe it was a liquidator but why would it ship from them directly?
There are people who make their living drop shipping. I do that a little bit with appliance parts. For instance: I have amazon prime, I have a washer belt listed on eBay for $12. You buy on eBay because it’s the best price. You don’t have prime so amazon is $9.99 plus 5 shipping. I have prime so when you buy from me I just order it from amazon and have it shipped to you directly and I make $2, plus whatever points I get from the card I charged it to.
It sounds ridiculous but multiply that that by a bunch of transactions with various margins and you got something.
