I follow the Jasper County Historical Museum (located in Newton, Iowa) on Facebook. They have been featuring some of the important historic markers in Newton in a year-end series. Here are some of the ones that might interest members here. I will post the remaining ones on this thread (which should be the Maytag and One-Minute Mfg. buildings) as they release them over the next several days.
Thanks - Jeff |

One of the comments on this Facebook post states:
"Perspective: while they sold 32,000 washers in 1906, Maytag in the 1970s could produce that many in about 17 days using only the main assembly line ("small line" production varied)."

Jeff, thank you for sharing these over the last few days. I've been looking forward to each days installments, and this last one is fantastic. I was wondering when they'd mention the Pastime.
I'm still a bit peeved they (either Whirlpool or the City) raised the R&D building. Was a dream of mine to work there. Ben
