Some of you may be aware that Maytag in Australia sells Euro Hoover front loaders. I have the previous generation. The current models are the Nextra models. Hopefully we will get the new Vision too.

I must say I am very happy with mine it works well and has not given me half the grief that people seem to think that Hoover/Candy will. In fact it has not given me any grief at all except for the day my brother nearly dropped it down three flights of stairs, but that is another story.

The machine also has a power jet, though the Nextra series doenst have this feature. It does a slow tumble, then the power jet comes on for a few minutes, then fast tumble, then a spin wash with the jet that is lots of fun.

Another fun thing it does is if you select max load and extra rinse, you get a really high waterlevel in the rinse. Combined with the spray and a short spinwash the rinse can be lots of fun. I only do this however when I have time to watch the cycle, normally the standard rinse is fine.

Anyway I am very happy with this machine and would recommend it to others.

Wow,

I never thought I would see a Hoover called a Maytag. That's just too strange!Maytag must think quite highly of Hoover to put their name to it, I guess. In the UK these are classed as roughly middle of line machines.

Is this the Hootag with an operator induced allergy to fabric softener? Read it in another post on the Super Forum, lol.

Nick

Maytag Hoover

Lets not forget that Maytag Own Hoover in some parts of the world I.e USA and i've sold a few Maytag branded Hoover machines here as which were set for export to Aussie etc. Got em cheap of course and had a rarity value i couldn't ignore here in the Uk! Candy only own the Hoover brand in Europe. Electrolux own Hoover in Australia. A complex affair me thinks for one brand name lol.

Hi guys. One question. Does Asko still make washers with the Maytag label?

Keep an eye on this site. Right now the Adamas and Elensis site are still on the British Maytag website.

Ash - nice pictures! Hoover/Candy are supposed to be the most unreliable brand in the UK, but to be honest they seem a lot more durable than other machines at the price. Have stayed with Dan (washboy2005) a couple of times, he has a Hoover Washer Dryer and that seems to be a nice machine - nice motor noise, seems to wash and rinse well, and still has a lot of classic elements. Quite well built too compared to Hotpoint's from the same era.

The Maytag UK website is actually quite out of date - they have the new style of Asko's now as their lower end models. Plus there is the Samsung produced model which is at their budget price point.

Thanks for mentioning me there Jon....

I am very happy with my hoover washer dryer, its put up with loads of abuse, albeit had a few repairs but still goes through anything from 8 loads to 20 loads a week every week.

Have To say i really cant decide what machine to go for when I eventually need a replacement, I am considering Zanussi, and the Hotpoint Aqualtis.

Love The Hootag :-D. Any Chance of Vid??

Take Care
Dan

I have to get a video camera for that! Maybe I will get one soon. I once had a flat mate with a video camera and it was like living in the big brother house. Everywhere you turned he was filming something. Ha Ha!

The 7kg Hootags are made in the UK, the 6kg Hootag in Italy.

I know that Hoover/Candy come low in Uk surveys, but it seems the worst stories are about Hotpoint. The Hootag does feel like a nice machine and the Nextra models feel nice too.

HaHa that is indeed at Hootag!!

Wish my old piece of crap was that interesting,

On mine... The water levels never reached the door on any programme (even woollens) or on Cottons, even with "6Kg Wash" ("Max Load" equivalent) AND "Extra Rinse" options selected!!! LOL
(And btw it never actually did an extra rinse when "Extra Rinse" was selected - just added a tiny bit more water)

… And a power jet AND a spin-wash!!! Woooo hope you have lots of fin with it… look like you will anyway!

strange you say you never got water at the door :-S

I get water at the door glass in every rinse except rinse 1 synthetics, which is low level... Strange LOL

Heres a pic of my standard rinse level!
