Isn't that the most beautiful washer you've ever seen???? I wonder if it still has the original two-ring pulsator in it?Somebody save that Unimatic from the crusher.

Actually, according to my Frigidaire parts literature, the WV-65, which is what this model is, *was* introduced in 1954! Surprised the hell out of me!

Frigidaire, as with many appliance companies, introduced their new product lines in the fall of the preceding year (1955 line intro'd in 1954) just like automobile companies intro'd their new models.

Wow, if he writes im on my way =)

Looks like i picked a good morning to come visit my friends in Applianceville. I've been away a few months, not good things have been happening. I'm going to be posting the distrubring news shortly (and since I've been a member since the yahoo days I'm posting it to vintage).

Hope all is well, and hope this guy emails back =)

Love you all!
Steven

I got it =-)

Well I'm going to Oregon next weekend! If it was a classic applianceville member who decided to let that machine go, all I can say is THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!

I will respond to my "other" posting a little later, but thank you so much for everyones kind words, but right now I want to think that post was written about someone else. I woke up today thinking something good was going to happen, I didn't realize it would be a frigidaire and I didn't think I would have the strength to even come onto the site and tell everyone where I've been.

dream machine?

So my dream machine is a 58 turqioise custom imperlal like robert has. I have a pink custom imperial dryer. Does this machine have the same "guts" as roberts custom imperial?

I am just about giddy about my weekend trip!! I will take pics for sure and looks like I will be stop by and say hi to Patrick who actually lives very close to where this machine is!

Hi Steven, I'm am so thrilled you are going to get that washer! Is this your first Unimatic?

Many of the components of the 1955 Unimatic are the same in the 1958 Unimatic, the main differences are the water valve, wash tub and agitator are very different. If you look at the thread called "Show Us The Inside Of Your Frigidaire" you can see some of the differences. The Unimatic mechansim itself is extactly the same.

I would love to see a picture of your pink 1958 Filtrator Dryer!

Congrats, Steven, and have a safe trip! You and I will most likely be the only owners of this model Frigidaire washer in Southern California. I have the instruction manual and will be happy to make a copy for you if you like.

Richie, I bet you could take your Filtrator brush over to Steve's and make sure it's been properly cleaned.

I thought the same thing. I tell ya, skip a day around here and big things happen. Oh well, sounds like it's going to a nice home and a nice guy. If you want to come over when Steven comes up this weekend, shoot me an email. It would be fun to meet. Anyone else in the area (Mike, Chris, David) that I might have forgotten interested in meeting just let me know.
