On January 20, 2020 our Whirlpool WTW5000DW1 top load HE washer finally died a slow painful death due to bearing failure. It was only 21 months old. It was going to cost $400.00+ to repair it. My wife and I could not bring ourselves to purchase a another Whirlpool product.

January 29, 2020 Lowes delivered a Samsung WA50R5400AW/US 5.0 cubic foot HE top load washer. This time I DID purchase a 3 year extended warranty agreement. We really like the extra large tub this one has. That comes in handy since we have to wash 3 dog beds and blankets every other week. It seems to be a sturdy washer. The cycles and options were a bit confusing to begin with. But all is well!!!

Time will tell how long it will last!!! At least this time I have a repair agreement in place.

Interesting washer but... why not a front loader? They're zillions of times better than any HE top loader.

Simple

We like a top loader!!!

We had a Whirlpool front load Duet HE bought in 2007. It was on a pedestal. It vibrated so much I had to put shock adsorbing pads under the leveling legs with double sided tape to keep it in place. When we got rid of it the control board was shot plus the machine had literally shook itself apart. We bought the Whirlpool TL set May of 2018. The top load set didn't take up near as much space as the front load did.
