Load = several cargo shorts (two with mud/dirt and grass/clover stains from yard work 2 & 4 weeks ago), lotta underwear, three hand towels. Detergent = approx 6 tablespoons Biz powder, 3 tbsp STPP, 1/4 measured cup Persil liquid. Downy softener. Cycle = Lifestyle / Stains / Grass. Cold Eco Active, Warm* (50°C/122°F) HE fill, cold conventional fill top-off. 1,010 RPM final spin. *Yes, the target temperature for Warm is 122°F. (vertical video orientation is not ideal but it worked best with the camera and lighting in this instance, zoom video to full screen for better view) |

As a fan of water-saving spray rinses, I’ve gotta say that F&P takes the checkered flag. They really do it right: Excellent fan-out of the spray hits the whole load. Also like the way the tub spins very slowly during the spray, allowing for complete saturation of fabrics, followed by a brief extraction. Definitely superior to my Speed Queen in the spray rinse department.
Interesting impeller, as well. More effective wash action compared to many we’ve seen. What year was this machine made? Is it a new design? Thanks for posting the video, Glenn. |

Serial date is June 2009. There are two other models in this line, both with LED button panels instead of LCD touch. The lower-end model doesn't have dispensers so the softener and bleach options are not on the panel. I have all three panels. My machine was originally the LED dispenser model. The seller was having problems with it and thought the panel was bad (it wasn't). He bought an LED non-dispenser panel which was on the machine but fortunately still had and included the original panel. I changed it to the LCD panel just because I could. :-) Capacity is rated 7kg / 15.5 lbs. The smaller size may contribute to better wash action than uber-sized HE toploaders nowadays. F&P increased the capacity to 10kg / 22 lbs on the last model revisions (no longer available) and increased the spin slightly to 1,100 RPM. As we know, the original Kenmore Oasis & Whirlpool Cabrio were based on this design, although WP changed it with separate pumps for recirculation and drain vs. F&P's reversing SmartPump. F&P's impeller design and/or motor programming seems to provide better rollover than others ... except it gets lethargic on cycles that are programmed for higher water levels.
