Excellent !
Both the TC and the revised TR series top loaders both perform well in their own ways when used properly. The 10 year warranty was a clincher for many. 10 year all-in warranty on a transmission was just an awesome deal. Somebody buying a new unit now would have to think hard about 7 year TR7 warranty and 3 year TC5 warranty and determine if they really needed the quick brute force of the classic wash action. It would be interesting to see a head to head comparison of the revised TR7 in Special Cycle P4 / Max Soil / Auto Fill against the TC5 Heavy Duty / Deep Fill / Extra Rinse to see if the TR7 has narrowed the performance gap vs transmission machine on very heavily soiled fabrics. TC5 definitely still on top in terms of cycle time - - but TR7 could have closed end result performance gap with longer duration soak / agitation. |

Looks Great and best of all you will be able to turn out lots of clean clothing FAST for the next 20-40 years depending on usage levels and care the machines get.
We have installed many sets of these new Classic Speed Queens and customers have been very happy with them.
Note, All SQ TL washers with the transmission have had a 15 year transmission warranty for at least 5 years now, The 10 year parts & Labor deal was diffidently the best warranty deal EVER for home washers and dryers.
Also Note, while the TL TR models have had their cycling tweaked they still do not clean large loads or very dirty clothing well, we continue to get serious complaints about these washers from consumers who have bought them and many people are trying to get dealers to take them back. As a SQ Warranty service provider we have to go out on these performance calls and try and show the customer how to use the machine to best advantage, back in the 70s we had to do this when customers bought Maytag washers and were not happy with them after having another brand that worked better [ Maytag knew they had performance problems and sent us out to customers homes with all sorts of stain removal charts and literature from the bleach makers ], however this problem with the TR models is far worse than the problems MT had.
SQ knows that the TR models don't work, that's why they can't use them in commercial situations , I predict that SQ will soon redesign the TR machines, their sales of TL washers is well less than 1/2 of what it was in 2017, and dryers took a hit as well as many people buy pairs, if it was not for their strong commercial sales the company could be in serious shape.

TL is short for Top Load Washer.
TR model prefix is the newer SQ TL washers that do not have an agitator that moves separately from the washer tub. TC model prefix is the traditional SQ TL washer that uses the same system as their commercial washers use. You can get any SQ dryer in either gas or electric, Gas dryers are generally safer, electric dryers as they age are prone to electrical fires in the dryer and house wiring and outlets. John L. |

And the SQ TC5 makes the best classic sounds of any modern washer along with a very smooth (if non-supersonic) spin. Enjoy! |

Sarmbrust18: Do not let your Speed Queen dealer try to talk you into the TR-series washers. The local dealer here stocks only the TR series and tries to strong-arm customers into buying one of them rather than special ordering a TC washer. He tells people the TR machine cleans much better than the “classic” Speed Queens, which as others here have stated is simply not true. The TR-series machines are quieter and they spin a little faster, but neither of those traits is worth the trade-off of poor cleaning performance.
Tell your dealer in no uncertain terms that either he orders a TC-series washer (if there isn’t one already in stock) or you will walk. Commok and tim90650: Congratulations on your new Speed Queen sets! Here’s to many trouble-free wash loads for both of you. |

We love these! Especially the way the washer just goes right into spin from wash! A 20 second spray-rinse too! It’s no minute-long one like in our old Maytag but it’ll do. I think it’s an important feature to have. The dryer has a long cool down so the clothes aren’t hot or even very warm when we take them out. The lint trap is easy and straight forward, just scoop out the lint! No doors or anything to lift. We’ve used the Eco cycle and it seems to rinse the soap out but we mostly use Heavy Duty. Thanks again all! I wouldn’t have ever even considered Speed Queen if it weren’t for the threads
