Is it just me or does the Coronado wringer advertised in today's POD strongly resemble the fabled Whirlpool Surgomatic?

I didn't previously notice that the TOL and MOL dryer models are the same price.

Hi Tim ~

There is a Western Auto Wizard that looks similar, and some of the Wizard models seem part Norge, believe it or not. I've learned recently that there is a co-mingling of brands amongst the wringers, Easy with Beatty, for example, but I don't tthink there is any Whirlpool in the Coronado. I have the Wizard, but it's in pieces now; let me check the photo library to see if I have a pic.

Your picture is the Whirlpool of my dreams with the pushbutton control panel, unique and very early for its time, which was only offered for a limited period.
Happy to see it again--thanks!

Remember that there is not necessarily a connection between which OEM was used by the wholesalers (Gambles/Coronado, OTASCO, Western Auto, Firestone, AMC, etc) for each line of appliances...look at what Wards did with Westinghouse cooking early, then switching to Tappan later. Especially between wringer and automatic laundry...may have been pre-existing relationships (especially with some of the small wringer makers).
