Kenmore 800 gas dryer, showing off it's stunning Coppertone paint scheme on this sunny day. Big thanks to my friend Brian Smith, of Smith Appliances, for saving all these treasures for me.

Anyone need this to complete a set? Let ne know.

Their motto for dryers should have been ...

" Kenmore... the indestructible Dryer".

Gosh they seem to run and last forever.

Nice score Mr. Kenny

Hey goatfarmer, that is a great looking KENMORE dryer! I like the styling of this KENMORE 800.
But wait a minute...
Is that a variable temperature/heat dial?!
If so, WOW... that is so cool!

Christina, only a choice of Heat or Air.  Soft Heat kinda eliminates the need for high/med/low etc. temp settings.

I had a SoftHeat Dryer years ago. I am still kicking myself I left it in the house that I sold.

Clothes never came out Broiled. Just soft and fluffy without fabric softener.

I have one of those homes here in southeast Texas. My shop is full wall to wall because I won’t quit bringing vintage appliances home. I just can’t stand to think they will go to crusher otherwise.

My oversize garage is full of machines, can only hold one car.  In the house I have the "main" pair in the laundry room, two usable washers in my master bath (with space for a 3rd but nothing there at the moment), a GE portable stashed in one of the master closets and a large box of parts in the other closet, two machines at the entrance from the patio into the kitchen/living room blocking access to the bar, two disassembled machines spread between the living room, spare bedroom and hallway, and parts spread amongst various other closets.

Great find !

Those dryers (and washers, matched sets) were very well-made indeed. Kenmore models from the 70's or 80s ?

Should be with me tomorrow I cannot wait for the gas line in the shed to be installed as soon as the floors finished. Have bought a metal flue with stainless steel vent and I hope to be able to keep it going for many a year :) I do think its about 20 years old but that's only because of the washer that matches it was one I installed at a stables in 1999 I will see what condition its in after a clean and put some pics up......

Shot 5, are you saying that the Kenmore set is "unknown working" or the Philco fridge behind is "uw"?

I think the Philco works, there was frost in the freezer when I picked it up. The latch on the door is broken, have another door with a good latch for replacement. Kenmores are as found.

Hi Austin, you are going to love how fast you can dry clothing with this dryer and so economically as well, let me know if you need any parts for it after you get into it.

All most a match, but the color is wrong copper vs Harvest Gold. I also don't know where it would fit as my space is tight now.

Thanks for the reply & letting me know the heat knob is only a choice for HEAT or AIR and not a variable selection.
:o)

Thank you John that's very kind of you :)

Its working electrically and I moved it to its new home yesterday as it was sat in the hall, So now all I need is the gas man to fit gas connection as need a pipe running from the boiler as that is in the shed where the dryer is. But with this darn Coronavirus stopping workmen doing jobs I may have to wait a while longer.....

Can't wait to try the dryer out its 21 years since I used a Sear's Kenmore while stateside.

Austin

I wish I could get it to PA. Kenmore gas dryers are all we use.
