So my bearings are starting to get rattly and apart from not wanting to spend scarce cash on a new machine I would really like to extend the life of my Servis Automatic 1600.

The problem is it seems to be a bit of an oddball model, there are no identifying tags on the door inner or drain port and in order to get to the rear case some engineering and possible dismantling of my kitchen will be involved.

So I am hoping a boffin might recognise the machine and give me a model number so I can get my self a bearing kit and seal set to repair this washer from around the turn of the millennium.

Yours in hope, AC, UK

That might be an ASKO, rebadged as Servis.

These days, Servis is a name used on Vestel products of Turkey.

Sure looks Asko to me.

I have recently acquired an Asko W600 needing repair.

Here is the service manual:

see if that looks familiar.

This looks like an Asko to me too - also sold in UK as Maytag

Thank you, for the rapid response, this gives me more clues to getting the right parts for a repair.

Welcome Andrew

Your washer is indeed a badged Asko washer, I have the other model badged as Maytag, they are also sold as a semi commercial model today as Whirlpool so should have no probs getting parts even if it is from commercial repairs etc..

Curious as to the white sticker on the fascia, though it was an indicator at first , had mine nearly 20 yrs and are in the washroom at the mo..

Thanks Mike,

The white sticker will be familiar to 50-somethings. It's the Imperial insignia from the original Star Wars movies. I was practicing with a new material on a laser cutter at work and made a few for practice. The Servis got tagged along with a few other items round the house.
