Hello all! Thanks for the add. Very neat site you have here!

I have owned a Fridgidaire Affinity Front Loader Set for around 9 years now.
While it has served its purpose, we are looking for something new and top loader. No more front loaders.

I’ve always leaned towards Speed Queen as my mother uses hers and really enjoys it.
Finding while reading mixed reviews between Speed Queen and Maytag that there is a considerable difference.

What are your opinions between the two brands? Yays or Nays?

Thanks!!
Samantha

Best New Washers

Bear in mind that FL washers are much better overall performers and if you have not been happy with your current FL washer you probably are not using it to best advantage.

Best TL washers are Speed Queen [ the MT machine is poor in durability, skip it ]

SQ makes two very different type TL washers currently, both very durable 25 year type washers.

The TC 5000 series is the traditional machine that has strong agitation that gets big dirty loads clean in 30-40 minutes.

The TR machines are their newer style TL machines, they are quieter and easier on your clothing and spin loads drier like your current FD FL washer. Down side they don't clean big dirty loads nearly as well and the cycle takes 60-80 minutes per load.

If your current washer is still working and you tell us what aspect about it you don't like we may be able to give advice to help you get better performance from it.

If I were to go back to a top load washer I would only go with the Maytag Commercial Model MVWP575GW, it is a little pricey but worth it. It has an old school Whirlpool Dual Action agitator that will out clean any Speed Queen because the clothes are constantly being drawn to the bottom of the wash basket. Also, it comes with a full 5 year warranty, stainless steel basket, heavy duty motor, drive belt, actuator and lid switch. It is front serviceable. It fills with a full tub of water and does a great job. Personally, I prefer a front loader, my previous Whirlpool Duet lasted 17 years, my current one is 2 years old and does a great job.
