It is amazing how Hobart and Maytag stuck so far behind the industries in innovations. Their histories really held them back when it came to innovations. At least when the 15 series came out, after the 14 series' short run, the machines were completely redesigned, but when you look at what Whirlpool was offering at the time Hobart was offering the 14 Superbas, Hobart was behind. I remember that Consumer Reports said of the top-rated machines in the report that they could wash dishes as well without detergent as some of the lower-ranked machines did with detergent. The 14 Imperials and Superbas were big advances with the detergent dispenser, redesigned lower rack and double wash, but the tanks stayed small. They are beautiful, fascinating machines, but not state of the art in capacity or cleaning.
