Tricking the lid lock is ... tricky. Place a strong magnet on left side surface on or near the lid bumper. Press start and the lid latches pop out. One of them (not both) must be caught and held in a position equivalent to when the lid is closed, just past the spring balance-point. Too far out or in and it won't run. It fills through the lid ... jet(s) of water spray into the rear edge of the lid and are channeled through to the dispensers ... so the lid cannot be opened but a crack during fill. Easiest method is remove the spring latches that anchor the top deck so it can be raised up with the lid closed ... but it still can't be raised very far during fill or gravity will cause the water stream to backflow instead of shooting into the lid. And it can't be raised if bleach or softener is loaded into the dispenser cups. Also, there is a vibration sensor on the control board in the console that triggers in response to tub impacts on the cabinet (limiting spin to no more than 500 RPM). Raising/lowering the top too quickly during spin acceleration will trigger it, the machine will stop and redistribute the load. The sensor disengages on some cycles after spin gets going .. but not on all of them. It seems to be active through the entire spin on Bulky for example. There are spray rinses at the beginning of all spin periods, including the final ... so there's the lid restriction. |
