The racks and interior look good. The question is why is it leaking. I am not that familiar with GE DWs. I have mostly worked on Hobart and WP/MT machines. Still if this can be fixed it is a good DW. Someone here who knows these units will help.

You are right that this is a good dishwasher. However I do not believe it will stack up to a vintage WP/KA/KM with the PC module under Bobload conditions. I would also put the MT Intelliclean over it.

Is the crappy builder grade motor and pump these DWs used, either the main pump seal or the drain trip shaft seal, good news is you can put in the newer pump and motor assembly, but you still won't have the great and fast cleaning performance of a WP Power-Clean DW.

Nick, the GSD1200 (Mechanical version of the GSD2800 shown) was the dishwasher that set the standard for BobLoads.  It where I developed the very creative loading with filthy loads of dish, cookware, and casseroles.

And Jetcone making the observation with the statement, "Watching Bob load a dishwasher is like watching oragame".

When I updated my kitchen in 1988...

.....I LUSTED after that GE dishwasher but already had a KDS-18 KitchenAid Superba so decided to keep it. In 1994, it died and it was also rusted around the heating element in the bottom of the tub so it got replaced with a TOL Maytag. I still have the Maytag and it still works great. I never pre-rinse dishes or use "rinse and hold" cycle. It takes me 7-8 days to fill it up with dirty dishes. I run the "normal" cycle with temperature boost and sani-rinse and the dishes always come out perfectly clean. My "dish rinsing" friends are amazed.
