Beautiful range but it would be better with a window in the oven door. The price seems high to me, but then I don't need it.

Our GE cooktop, oven and the KA dw were coppertone. They were installed in 1966, but even into the late 80s, people used to ask my mother where she found new Coppertone appliances in the 80s.

If you used the dishcloth to clean up the cooktop, instead of using window cleaner, you had to give the surface a final wipe with a vinegar & water solution to prevent a haze from forming after drying which was very visible on the dark color.

When Consumer's Union tested electric ranges for the first time in the early-mid 50s, they explained that since 30 inch electric ranges were the most popular, based on sales, that is what they were testing.

For the gas stoves, the 36 inch size was the most popular so that was what they tested. I remember the center griddles which generally had poor heat distribution once the round burner cycled down and the Ropers with the funny rotisserie in the middle of the cooktop. The two infra ray burners provided more even heat under the griddle.

In Coppertone, The oven needed cleaning and while I was at it I cleaned a bunch of parts from a 20" Brown Gas range,

I should have taken a before picture.

But it worked beautifully.

That's a beautiful range!  I really like the dark panels across the top part of the oven doors.
