I'm a little leery of red porcelain in 1949.

According to the newspaper article included in the photos this range has been restored. whoever restored it probably painted it red instead of staying period.

Red Chambers Range

These were built in red, I have a customer with one and it is original, I believe this is more of a mid 50s range, I dough they were selling a red range right after WW2.

He's dreaming!

You could get a new Stainless steel DCS or WOLF professional style range with full size convection oven, flattop, charbroiler and commercial grade burners for less than that.

My chambers

only cost $200, then I spent around $400 for some parts it needed.

That price isn’t crazy

Whoever did the work cut a few corners. It kind of looks like the burners were just painted, or original porcelain. The broiler tray looks like it was hit with a wire wheel.

Chambers are the most difficult to restore. So much so that I have yet to do one all the way.

If that was 100% legit with a modern ignition system I would sell it for that much. Maybe more.
