I assume its down to the power supply us being 220/240 to all outlets means you can plug anything in where ever you wish. Mind you a 3kw heater in a wash tub of cold water can still take over an hour to heat up, I know we did some boiling in the wash tub but it was mostly used to boost the heat when going cool.
