Hey guys,

Had a good load in mum's Miele (teatowels) and caught it earlier doing the amazingly powerful cottons tumbling action. Lighting is a bit poor as the utility room is very narrow, however you get the general idea of the action :-). It is indeed very dramatic - can be splashy too if you use a higher sudsing detergent!

Enjoy!!!!

Jon

How quiet is your Miele? thats crazy i knew they were quiet but wow! and to think my mum raved on about the LG DD being quiet compared to the Hotpoint.
I would compare a LG DD noise level to a zanussi jetsystem. in fact i would even say noisier than that.

Great wash action though, what temp are the towels on? washing product?

Nick

Hey Nick,

Being teatowels they were washed on Cottons95*C with prewash, 160ml of Persil for mainwash and 80ml for the prewash of course :-). Of course the obligatory Extra Rinse and Water Plus options were also used :-D.

(For prewashing, I tend to use the heavy soil dose but split it between two so you have the medium soil dose for the mainwash and the remainder of the heavy soil dose in the prewash).

The Miele is indeed whisper quiet, the spin cycle is even more amazing. Just more of a powerful, quiet whirr than an actual spin cycle noise - you just hear the drum spinning. It's far quieter than the Jetsystem than it replaced and the Bosch beforehand. Definitely extremely well engineered.

Very good, Jon. :-)

Mieles are so quiet. :-)

I will agree that, even on my new Miele Premier 520, the cottons programme is very dramatic and provides very little rest for the load.

Admittedly, that is what a cottons programme is meant to do, but not since my old Hotpoint Microtronic L.E. have I seen such forceful cottons cycles.

Thanks very for video again. :-) Although that is a different model to mine, I am ever more reassured that my Miele is working properly. :-) I have just been rather pessimistic in recent times because of the problems with the new Hotpoint we had.

Regards,

Carl

Hiya Jonny!!!!

That looks familiar! HeHe

I had to wash a t-shirt on its own the other day, because some dye ran in a previous wash, and i was using this dye remover stuff to get it back out. Fortunately it was the only thing infected LOL
ANYWAY... I wanted to see it do the fast wash rhythm and I knew it wouldn't do it with such a small load. So I opened the door a few minutes into the programme, to "accidentally/on-purpose" re-set the load sensor to max. load. LOL

It was great, the t-shirt didn't distribute but you get a real appreciation for the speed ... here’s a vid
