guy I know has this in his backyard, not in running order;kind of like a Japanese Jaguar and quite pretty in a subtle way with pearly sheen off-white finish, the interesting badge on the grilleless front, perfect panel gaps,non-fogging glass headlamps...Thought about buying it for repair evaluation, but I am not really into imports and I am awash in big projects right now...Did not ask what was wrong with it,but I kinda recall the quad cam 4.5 v8 would damage itself when the timing chains got slack at ~110,000 mi. A really neat and unique car for a '90s import :)

Nissans entry into the Luxury market, along with Toyota’s Lexus LS400 sedan. The Q45 was interesting looking without a grill up front, but was very comfortable and with the 278 hp 4.5L V8, FAST! A friend rented one for a week through Enterprise Rent a Car and let me drive it. I was impressed by it, however I preferred the Lexus LS400 over the Infinity

A friend bought a used Infiniti - newer than this - and had loads of trouble with it. Said never again.

It's old!

Any car that age is bound to have a few issues, even a Lexus, but I think the Toyota brand is/was a bit better from the get go. Styling is remenicant of the 1992 Crown Victoria.

I remember a friend getting a used Q45.  At the time, we had an '89 190E 2.6, which was the six cylinder version of MBZ's entry level class, and the TOL Q45 seemed cheap in comparison.  Our friend even admitted that there was no comparison.

parts salvage if he junks the Q

might salvage the front seats if good and looks like they could be made to fit in my 1990 Chevy G30 box truck, the dash clock since that little British guy made a point to mention the central location of the device in the Q45 TV ad :)and the front badge, stereo,EL lit instrument cluster, and other parts.

Interesting car, I agree the front end looks a lot like the 1992 Crown Victoria, as does the roofline looks like early-mid 90s ones.

I also had an '89 190E 2.6!  I had around 250K miles on that car when I sold it.  It was still as tight as a German army tank!
