I think that Haier series 82 machines are the worst of the Haier range. We have one which we bought in 2013.

This is a list of the damages it sustained throughout these last 7 years:
1. 2015: Shock absorber got rusty due to the dispenser leaking (design flaw)
2. 2016: Before even 3 years of age the spider broke. The machine stated to be 5 years warranty but the spider was not under the warranty.
3. 2017: Motor brushes finished. The motor which was 5 years warranty, also did not include the brushes' warranty. Here it is worth mentioning that the motor which is identical to the one in the Haier HW80-1203D, a much better model makes far less noise in the HW80-1203D than in the HW70-1282, even when the motors were swapped. I am guessing the controller is of low quality and makes the brushes spark more or something, making them go bad quickly.
4. 2019: the bearings became noisy, and were replaced, and the spider, which was close to breaking again was replaced too.
5. 2020: the bearings broke again and were replaced again. Now, one false move, and the appliance will be scrapped, I hope!
These were the damages, not to mention that the machine leaks out of the door and the dispenser, which made it all rusty.

oh dear, I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with this machine, maybe it's time to get rid of it and get something else in its place, I think that 1 must have been built of a Friday afternoon. :)

Made of the finest "Chinesium".  All kidding aside, I am sorry for your troubles. I am surprised you kept it that long.

I wished I could get rid of it as soon as the spider broke, but it is actually my parents' washing machine, and my mother likes it for its choice of programmes.

I cannot wait to get an Indesit My Time or an It Wash Evolution 3 instead of it.

Also forgot to mention, that the machine also is noisy and rinses with a very low water level, and even with extra rinses (up to 5) the clothes remain soapy

I understand. Sometimes people get so attached to things they won't let it go, no matter how poorly they perform. 5 rinses. Yikes!
