I had one I found some 10? years ago. Bought it at a yard sale where the guy had been using it as shop washer for his rags etc.. It has some splashy turnover. It's living in Stratford now with wee Davey.. I may have an action video somewhere or he would.

Same thought passed through

I thought of washing rags with it. If you find an action video featuring WHOOOOOSHING bubbles, you have to post it. Afterall, you don't see the whoosh too often.

I guess you could always take off the wringer (or try) and use it like one of those whirlpool hydrotherapy things in the locker rooms for athletes for a sore elbow.

When we were at our "camp" as a kid that I live in now, we had the same style Monitor and I got to crank the wringer. It did make bubbles but I think it was the Tide making the bubbles as it made a good froth.

Does it have a pulsator in the side of the tub similar to a Hoover washing machine ?

Or are the bubbles created by air???

Have to ask as never seen one !!

Yes, a pulsator that was a disc with raised ridges in it similar to Hoover's.

As a big-time Monitor washer collector, I can tell you there were several different models available. One with pump. One without pump. And one model even had an electric wringer. I'll try to get some pictures up of my collection over the next few days.

Always fascinated by the SS or aluminum tub and the fact that a wee portable had a big pump and a long hose. My Great Aunt-thru-marriage, Viola, had one next to her stationary tubs along with a Blackstone Wringer and Universal Automatic, a secret washer lover I'm sure. A few towns away, we didn't get there often, alas, and I was just a little fellow unable to drive.

The rear wall mounted paddle is just like the 'Oovah's.

Would enjoy seeing your collection, Ron ! Imagine, a collection of Monitors. Who knew? The wonder here never ceases.

There has been one available on a nearby Craigslist for quite a while; will put it up later.

What a fun find, Phil. Thanks.
