This is killing me.
Not a horrible drive from me.
Supposedly works, but needs new cord. They used it on their new range.
This Liberty theme or whatever it is would be totally up my alley.
But...no way to haul it...nowhere to put it.
Timing is everything.

P.S. Sign says "Manuel is in the oven". I hope someone lets him out!
Sorry. Couldn't resist.
P.P.S. The picture is sideways in the original listing. It's not a problem with AW.

OMG!  I had a friend who had an Eaton Viking range like this, in coppertone, and with the wooden handles!

I wish I could bring this one home.
It must be pretty uncommon. I couldn't find any mention of one on the whole interweb.
Being free, I really hope someone doesn't just scrap it. 😳

Ugh...listing has been taken down.
Now I'm going to stress over the thought of a scrapper destroying it. 🙁

Love that colonial styled panel.  Very 70s

That said it looks rather basic.  Has time bake apparently.

Early American Styled Magic Chef Electric Range

combo52's profile picture

That range is so hideous that it would be almost worth saving,

MC was already such junk that it is just funny now, and you can see why a better builder like GE or Frigidaire would never have done this.

But I guess if you had a little cottage with ugly knotty pine cabinets and EA furniture and frilly kitchen curtains this range would fit right in, LOL

The base range, less the "colonial" trim, is like the one my friend Glenna D. got around 1966. Wasn't up to the quality of their refrigerator and laundry equipment, which were Kenmore.

Notice the red oven dial, a holdover from Magic Chef's first oven thermostat for a gas stove, the side-mounted Big Red Wheel.

The appropriate 70s kitchen.

Look at those frilly priscilla swag curtains.  It needs a standard white sheer, though, or maybe even a lacy sheer to make it complete.

But we've got to switch out those metal base cabinets for some knotty pine.

These are upper scale with raised panels.

Nice work!
I like every one of those pictures!
I grew up in a house with a kitchen that had knotty pine cabinets, (built by my uncles), early American/Colonial furniture and decor, frilly curtains, etc.
Mom even had similar plaques on the wall! Although hers were cast aluminum, I believe. Made by Sexton.
A kitchen like that just takes me back and feels like home. ❤️🙂

I have a clock very much like that in my 70's kitchen. It's fallen off the wall a few times a week for as long as I can remember. Look at it funny and it'll go flying across the room. Somehow it still keeps time and hasn't cracked yet.

that "Fauxlonial" look! Knotty pine cabinets, plaid curtains, and Early American Ethan Allen furniture warms the cockles of my heart - then just add the newly re-introduced Armstrong 5352 brick flooring, the best seller of all time! "Traditional" is for old ladies who belong to the DAR, and "Mid-Century Modern" is sooo cliche! ;-)

Kelvy made some side by sides in the early 60's, with similar handles. A picture escapes me right now.

Has that floor covering seriously been reintroduced?
Believe it or not, that pattern, in shades of beige, was (and still is) in the kitchen where I grew up!

Barry

Edit:
I somehow missed that you posted a link.
I just went to check it out. The first color shown on that site; Camel, is the floor I grew up with! ❤️

Retrorenovation is an awesome site.

And yes the flooring line has been reintroduced.

There are also laminate countertop patterns from the 60s that are still made.

You should check out the site as they have lots of retro mid-century stuff.

A pretty novel looking electric range from a company which saw more success with gas ranges, so buy it for its sentimental value, which along with that classic flooring makes a good period piece...

Armstrong brick pattern

firedome's profile picture
is the most popular linoleum and vinyl (came both ways) pattern of all time! My aunt had red 5352 linoleum in her '55 cape and we had it in our 1st house, 1974. Then we had it in 2 later houses that we built, this time in Solarian vinyl. My parents had it in the green color in the house they built in 1968. I've been hoping for its return for years!!

The brick pattern floor covering is a classic.  The Hector Heathcote range in the OP, not so much -- John L.'s description is fitting.  At first I thought it might be a bicentennial edition but the range is too old.
