So my husband and I decided to move into a new apartment in NYC. New apartment offers exclusive access to basement which was an amazing idea having a laundry room !
Due to the strict space and setup in my previous apartment I decided to sell the compact kenmore to the new tenant. So I was looking for a new washer and preferably one with sanitize cycle In the meantime just for fun I setup an notification with the word “Miele” on the letgo App! Suddenly 9pm I get a notification that a new Miele washer was available close to my area. A contractor who had to renovate an apartment in Manhattan received the order to throw away al the old appliances and make space for new ones One of them was a Miele W3035! The price was $150 and I made him an offer for $100 and immediate pickup (he mentioned “who’s gonna pay more for a portable washer”! So I did. My husband myself and an old track going at 10pm to pickup a Miele Once I got the machine I could wait to get to the service menu and check for faults and operating hours Guess what. No faults and only 160 hours ! Only some mold ! I’m running a sanitize cycle with tide and bleach and we’ll see how it goes Any idea how I can get rid of the black mold in the door gasket ? |

most times, with proper cycles and true hot/warm washes, and occasional LCB, the mold will go away on its own....
the dishwasher detergent should work as well.....I have even bought chlorine granules for pools, now thats major concentration there! even spraying the boot with bathroom cleaner specific for mold/mildew helps too.... you may want to pull out the dispenser drawer and check in there as well for mold and build up... |

For detergent residues I found that a 2 step process of a sour treatment (citric acid), a rinse and then some bleach removed residues from drawers and other parts best. Same with drum cleaning. |

So actually bleach soap and the sanitize cycle did the trick !
Mold is gone and the machine runs like new What I really love about this series of Miele is the high water level during rinse !
