Cool Too bad it could not have been something great, these would be best for a movie set or something like that.

I would never want either one in my home today, performance of these refs were poor back in their day and terrible by todays standards, the range is just slow and a pain to keep clean.

Loving the paneling, counter tops, traverse rods, flooring; but.....

This listing looks suspicious.

These look like actual original construction pictures from the mid 70s.

There is nothing in the background to indicate these were recently taken.  I hope I'm wrong and one could find a place that was locked up after being 98% completed in 1974....

Wow, not even so much as a tiny shelf for ice trays in the freezer.  I wonder if these were game show prizes that went directly into storage because the winner wisely preferred the stove and fridge they already had.

Very ugly appliances, don't know why they rub me wrong even for someone who loves vintage and whose hobby was drawing boxes with knobs and loved the underdog brands like these in a world where it had always been Kenmore this and GE that...

And who knows what nearly-fifty-year-old freon in that ice box and its vessels to flow it must be like...

To quote an Atlanta friend, "Cheapness," although that was generally uttered as a character evaluation, I guess it would be appropriate as a quality evaluation for this duo.

Freon/refrigerant doesn't either wear out or spoil from non-use.  There's no mechanical wear on a compressor that has never run.

Dave, I share your disdain for some of the 70s stuff.

In the 80s, 70s stuff was everywhere as people were replacing it with new and donating the "old" stuff to goodwill or throwing it out.

I didn't care for avocado the most, coffee brown next, and to a lesser degree harvest gold. I really found turquoise repulsive, but out of the 200+ appliances I've had I've never had one that color (except for a built in stove top I sold).

I also didn't care for burnt orange.... anything, or dark paneling, or 9x9 staple on ceiling tiles,.....

but now, they are all old friends that you don't see very much anymore. And when you see any variant of them (yes including anything turquoise) , it makes you feel comfortable and pining for the past.

If the compressor hasn't started in 50 years, there is the slight possibility it's stuck. I would have them in my kitchen, not so sure my wife would.
