Damper pads are getting dry. You may have caught it in time if the (bad) vibrations recently began and can get away with just lubing the pads. If not, the pad(s) get ripped off the base via friction and the aluminum damper loses out in the metal hardness scale. Remove the front panel and use a flashlight for inspection.

It was indeed the damper pads. I was lucky that I found a repair guy who cared for old machines and fixed it. | ||
